A NEW desert parlour has opened in Basildon’s Eastgate Shopping Centre to the delight of shoppers and foodies.
Ace Coffee and Creams opened to the public on Tuesday, November 29.
The eatery specialises in coffee and ice cream, but also sells baps, bagels, milkshakes, smoothies and bubble teas.

Basildon resident Roy Davis joined crowds lining up to give the restaurant a try on the day of the grand opening.
The 76-year-old said: “It looks really up to date and smart.
“There is a huge selection of gelato and it all tastes lovely, plus they do waffles that are great as well.
“I think it will do well, especially when the cinema opens.”
Nicola Hutchinson, 69, who also headed down to the opening, said: “It was so good.
“I can’t wait to take the kids down there this weekend, they are going to love it.
“There are quite a lot of ice cream places in Basildon now, but this has to be my favourite of them all.”
Basildon councillor Kerry Smith has welcomed the new business, adding it reflected a long-term town centre shift away from over reliance on retail.
“I welcome the addition of this new ice cream parlour, it’s always great to see new business popping up in our town,” he said.
“With so many of our big retail names picking up and leaving the Eastgate and town centre in recent years as internet shopping has taken over, it has been nice to see the revival of the restaurant.
“So many of those units, that have set empty for a while, have been filled recently by restaurants, cafes, and desert parlours.
“The Eastgate is now a great place to get lunch while out on doing your shopping.”
Eastgate centre manager Ian Clark said: “We are delighted to welcome ACE Coffee and Creams to Eastgate. It is a great addition to the food choices available at Eastgate.
“I’m sure our shoppers will enjoy its selection of savouries, drinks and desserts. Enjoying a break for food is a tasty treat during a shopping or leisure trip to Eastgate.”
