A teenager was suffered a leg injury in a stabbing in a Pitsea street, sparking a police investigation.
The youth was attacked in Rectory Road at about 6pm last night.
Residents reported seeing a cordon and large emergency service presence in Rectory Road last night following reports of an incident.
Worried residents also reported seeing a police cordon near a the Costcutter store and a takeaway business in the street.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called to Rectory Road, Basildon, at around 6pm on Tuesday 30 November by colleagues in ambulance following reports of a stabbing.
"A teenager was taken to hospital for a leg injury, described as non-life changing. If you have any information, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
