A man suffered an injury to his arm during an attack in a Southend street.
Police were called to the assault in Whitefriars Crescent, Southend shortly after 7.30am today.
Officers say his injury is not life-threatening and police are appealing for witnesses with information to come forward.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We are investigating a report of an assault in Whitefriars Crescent, Southend. The incident was reported to us shortly after 7.30am today, Saturday 3 December.
"When officers arrived, they found a man who had sustained a wound to his arm. Thankfully, his injuries are not considered to be life-changing or life-threatening.
"We are investigating how the man came to sustain the injuries. At this stage, we do not believe there is any wider threat to the community, and we believe the incident to be isolated.
