Police have seized three dogs that were found "emaciated" and locked in a container in Wickford near the A127.
The officers from the Wickford Community Policing Team rescued the three dogs found in what police call "appalling conditions" just off A127 in Wickford.
Officers alo say the dogs were found locked in a container.
A spokesman for Essex Police - Basildon District said: "PCSO Edwards and PCSO Grant and Officers led by APS Cattell from Wickford Community Policing Team rescued three dogs found in appalling conditions from a location just off A127 Wickford they were locked in a container.

"All three dogs were under fed and emaciated but are now in the care of Essex Police and will be handed over to a local Dog Charity to take care of them."
