LAKESIDE claimed their third away Elite League win of the season when they recorded a 48-42 victory over Belle Vue at Kirkmanshulme Lane.

Riding one of their favourite "away" tracks, the Hammers were never headed on Monday night after taking the lead in heat two when Jonas Kylmakorpi and Ricky Kling recorded a 4-2 to set the visitors on their way.

Kylmakorpi again proved to be an effective match-winner for Lakeside with another victory in his second ride.

And he finished the evening with paid 14 points from his six rides, that also included two paid wins.

Andreas Jonsson made his usual effective contribution with two heat wins and three second places, while there were also vital race wins from Leigh Lanham and Lubos Tomicek.

The inimitable Jason Crump was in scintillating form for the Aces, recording a five-ride maximum, but apart from Charlie Gjedde, the home riders had little answer to an effective and solid all-round team display from their opponents.

Kylmakorpi and Jonas Davidsson collected the first of four 5-1s for the Hammers in heat four and when Jonsson and Lanham combined for a 4-2 in heat five, the visitors were 11-19 ahead.

The Manchester side responded with a Crump-inspired maximum over Davidsson and Ricky Kling in heat six .

But after conceding another heat advantage in heat seven when Adam Shields finished behind Joe Screen, Lakeside gained another 5-1 through Lanham and Kylmakorpi to restore the six-point lead (21-27).

Although the Aces pulled back a couple through in heat 10 when Crump prevailed over Shields, the maximum from Jonsson and Lanham in the next heat virtually settled the contest with the visitors now 37-29 in front.

A brace of successive 4-2s reduced the deficit to four points, but the influential Kylmakorpi teamed up with Tomicek for a penultimate heat 5-1 to ensure the Hammers the three league points.
