The magic of the movies will be coming to town this Christmas when Rayleigh Brass performs some of the greatest festive film music of all time at Holy Trinity Church

The band’s Christmas concerts have become one of the highlights of the holiday season and this year’s event will feature music from seasonal favourites including Love Actually, Disney’s Frozen, and even A Muppet Christmas Carol.

This year will be extra special as it will see the band, which is more than a hundred years old, performing in the newly refurbished Holy Trinity Church at the top of Rayleigh High Street.

"Christmas is always a really special time and this year’s programme is bound to send people home with a glow in their hearts," said Rayleigh Brass musical director Pete Bearman.

"There is so much great Christmas film music out there and it has been difficult to choose what to play, but there should be something for everyone."

As well as classics such as the Nightmare before Christmas and the Polar Express, the band will also be delivering all the traditional favourites with a second half dedicated to modern, and ancient classics ranging from Santa Claus is Coming to Town to O Holy Night.

Christmas is always a hugely busy time for the band which has al-ready been out performing carols and bringing Christmas cheer to events around the county. Players will be performing at local schools, yacht clubs and outside supermarkets to raise money for charity and band funds.

A Christmas Soundtrack and Festive Favourites will takes place at Holy Trinity Church, High Street Rayleigh, SS6 8BB at 6pm on Saturday December 10, doors open at 5.30pm. Admission is £9, £7 for concessions and under 15s are free, accompanied by an adult.
