LAST night several planes were diverted to Southend Airport due to the bad weather.
The captial was blanketed by snow and freezing fog, with Stansted Airport forced to close a runway.
A number of planes were divered to Southend Airport as a result.

A spokesman for the Airport Tweeted: "Tucked up warm in bed thanks to Southend Jet Centre.
"Here's a few aircraft that diverted to us due to poor weather in London this evening.
"SEN were able to accept multiple business jet diversions for fuel and for these aircraft, hangar parking away from Jack Frost."
