SEVERAL schools will have delayed starts, with others announcing their closure, due to the heavy snow fall across Essex

Last night, many parts of south Essex had snow, causing chaos on the roads across the county.

The Met Office had warned their could be snow, with a yellow weather warning put in place throughout yesterday and into this morning.

As a result, some schools have announced their closure, or instead a late start.

Basildon Upper Academy, Basildon - Closed. 

Due to adverse weather conditions and safety of the staff and pupils the school is closed today. 

Basildon Lower Academy, Basildon - Closed. 

Due to adverse weather conditions and safety of the staff and pupils the school is closed today. 

Beauchamps High School, Wickford - Closed. 

The school say work will be uploaded onto Teams for all students as the site will be closed due to dangerous conditions. 

The Billericay School, Billericay – Adapted start time.

There will be a delayed start for students today of 11:15am (Period 3) as the school say they need to access the site.

The Bromford School, Wickford - Closed. 

The school say the site is unsafe following the snow fall, and will therefore be closed. 

Chase High School, Westcliff - Adapted start time.

Students have been told school will start at period 2, meaning pupils can arrive from 9:45am and go to lesson for 10am start.

Castle View School, Canvey – Minor adaption.

In an email sent the school is open as usual, however, tutor time has been extended slightly to allow staff and children to get in safely.

De La Salle School, Basildon - Closed.

Ortu Gable Hall School, Stanford Le Hope – Closed.

The school say due to dangerous weather conditions the decision has been made to close the school for today. They say the view is to re-open tomorrow.

Quilters Infant and Junior School, Billericay - Closed 

Ramsden Hall Academy, Billericay - Closed. 

South Green Junior School, Billericay - Closed. 

St Anne Line Catholic Junior School, Basildon - Closed.

The school say the difficult decision has been made, due to adverse weather conditions and for the safety of pupils and driving conditions for staff, St Anne Line Junior and St. Anne Line Infant and Nursery to close today.

Woodlands School, Basildon - Closed.
