A famous professional boxer has compared a top Southend hotel to "Santa's grotto" after staying there this week.
Two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has visited the Roslin Beach Hotel in Thorpe Esplanade with his family.
And the English boxer was full of praise for the much-loved venue, hailing it as one of the best hotels he's ever stayed in.
In a video at the hotel, Tyson said: "I would say this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.
"Jacqui is absolutely fantastic, very welcoming, she treated me like a family member and I'd probably say it is the most Christmas decorated hotel I've ever stayed in it's like Santa's grotto.
"So if you're local, stop in and check it out."
Sharing the video, a spokesman for the hotel said on Facebook: "This week we had the pleasure of welcoming a very special guest to our warm and wonderful hotel.
"Tyson Fury, it was lovely to have you and your family stay with us this festive season! Thank you for your kind and generous words about our hotel - we look forward to welcoming you again soon."
The hotel is popular with famous faces, with Basildon actress Denise Van Outen enjoying a "fabulous meal" at the venue recently.
