THE A13 between Sadlers Farm and Tarpots in Benfleet is closed due to a water leak.
Rebecca Harris, MP for Castle Point, and Andrew Sheldon, Essex County Council councillor for South Benfleet said both lanes Southend bound, and one lane London bound are closed due to the leak.
Essex and Suffolk Water are currently on site trying to repair the water leak and have been since yesterday evening.

It is unconfirmed when the road will re-open, but Mr Sheldon is hoping it will be by the evening rush hour today.
He said: “Essex and Suffolk Water have discovered that the leak nearest Tarpots is further into the road than they thought.
“They have had to shut both Southend bound lanes and shut one of the two London bound lanes.
“Their work will continue into tomorrow, but I am hoping they will be off the road by the evening rush hour.”
