Two boys were seriously assaulted in an attack in a Canvey street.
Police were called to Third Avenue at about 9.30pm following reports of two boys being seriously assaulted last night.
The two teenage victims were taken to hospital. One had sustained serious injuries which, police say are not deemed to be life-threatening.
Officers quickly arrested two boys at a nearby address in connection with the assault.
They remain in custody for questioning.
Officers have remained at the scene today to continue their enquiries.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We need anyone with information on the incident or who has dashcam or doorbell footage of the area between 9pm and 9.30pm last night to get in contact.

"We would particularly like to hear from the occupants of a three-door white Vauxhall Corsa which appears to have its rear passenger windows covered.
