The report stated: “Pupils at Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery display the school motto of ‘success with a smile’ throughout the school day.
“Pupils enjoy playing together during breaktimes and lunchtimes. They look after each other.
“Bullying is very rare. Pupils know adults will help them if it happens.
“Pupils are happy and feel safe at school.”
At the time of inspection, there were 483 pupils at the school, all aged between two and 11.
Inspectors also praised the safeguarding arrangements.
The report added: “The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
“Staff are well trained in how to identify any safeguarding concerns and they have a secure understand of what they need to do if they are worried about a pupil.
“There are clear processes for recording concern, which all staff follow.
“Pupils know how to keep safe, including when online, and they know there are trusted adults in school to talk to if they have any worries.”
The school recently had a new headteacher, Tracy Dennis, join in September.
She said: “We are delighted that the achievements of our fantastic school have been recognised by the inspection team.
“I was particularly pleased that they commented that pupils work hard in in lessons to do the best they can.
“This is because all staff have high expectations and ambitions for what pupils can achieve and that they look after each other.”
Prince Avenue Academy and Nursery is part of South East Essex Academy Trust (SEEAT).
Andrew Cooper, CEO of the trust added: “Every time I walk into Prince Avenue I am met by enthusiastic children and a fantastic staff team.
“The whole report is a pleasure to read but my favourite comment was ‘pupils enjoy school, and they love learning.’
“Now that is what it is all about.”
