A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Westcliff.
Yesterday, at around 5:20pm, emergency services were called to Salisbury Avenue following a crash involving a car and a cyclist.
The road was closed with a cordon in place following the crash and residents reported seeing several emergency services on the scene.

As a result of the crash, the male cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We were called to Salisbury Avenue in Westcliff at around 5:20pm yesterday following a collision involving a car and a cyclist.
“The male cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“The road was temporarily closed whilst emergency services were on the scene.”
East of England Ambulance Service was also present and have been contacted for comment by the Echo.
