Hockley residents were left without broadband and phone network after a car crashed into a telecommunications box this morning.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash which occurred in Buckingham Road at about 8am.
A blue Ford Fiesta struck a road sign and a telecommunications box this morning (December 28), causing an outage to broadband and phone network in the area.
Residents in the area reported the exchange box was "completely demolished".
The latest update from BT at about 2pm estimated it would be fixed by January 6.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "If you saw anything, please call us on 101 or report online or livechat, quoting incident number 0275 of 28/12."
