SOUTHEND has welcomed the arrived of four new animals to its Sealife centre

Sealife Adventure, located in Eastern Esplanade, has announced the arrival of four Cownose Rays.

Cownose Rays are a species of Batoidea found throughout a large part of the western Atlantic and Caribbean.

In 2019, the species was listed as vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature list.

Sealife bosses did not clarify where the new Cownose Rays had come from before arriving at the centre.

However, they added how visitors can expect more animals moving in shortly.

A spokesman for the Sealife Adventure said: “We are delighted to announce the arrival of four Cownose Rays to Sealife Adventure.

“They are located in our new Ray Bay – Porto de Ravos.

“Keep an eye out on your adventures as more animals will be moving in soon.”
