COUNCIL officers descended on an anti-social behaviour hotspot today resulting in alcohol being confiscated and fines being handed out.
Teams from Southend Council’s Community Safety Partnership were on patrol this morning in Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, following complaints from residents about nuisance behaviour and drinking.

The teams confiscated and binned eight open bottles and cans of alcohol, issued two warning for begging and fined another individual for refusing to hand over their alcohol.
A Safer Southend spokesman Tweeted: “The early shift have been putting the steps in today on patrols of Westcliff and ongoing ASB complaints re Hamlet Court Road.
“Eight open vessels of alcohol removed and disposed of. Two verbal warnings issued for begging and one FPN for refusing to surrender an open vessel of alcohol.”
