A boy was hit by a car in a busy Laindon road, sparking a large emergency service.
The child was involved in the crash at the junction of High Road and School Avenue in Laindon last night at about 4.37pm.
Worried residents posting online wishing well to the boy.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.37pm on Thursday 5th January with reports that a child had been hit by a car on the junction of High Road and School Avenue in Laindon.
"Two ambulances, an ambulance officer and the Basics Essex Accident Rescue Service were sent to the scene. The patient, a boy, was assessed as ‘major trauma negative’ and transported to Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital for treatment.”
