A WOMAN was reportedly assaulted by a man outside a busy supermarket yesterday afternoon.
Essex Police says it was called to reports of a disturbance close to Asda in Pipps Hill Retail Park, Basildon, shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday, January 5.
It was reported that a woman had been assaulted by a man.

One eyewitness described seeing a man “throwing punches” at woman who was on the floor by the supermarket doorway.
They claimed the assailant attempted to drag her outside along the grounds as she screamed out for help.
Police say the woman had then returned to the shop and the man had left the area by the time officers arrived.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing.
