SCHOOL bosses have insisted parents have had a “positive” reaction to rules banning children from physical contact on site.
Yesterday, a spokesman for Southchurch High School insisted to the Echo that parents were pleased with the rules, despite facing criticism online.
The school, based in Southchurch Boulevard in Southend, wrote to parents on Monday outlining a number of rules - including a total ban on children “touching each other” on the school site.

The move has sparked controversy online, with a number of parents branding the move “draconian”.
However, when contacted by the Echo, a spokesman said: “At Southchurch High School we are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all members of the school community.
“This procedure encourages students to behave in a courteous and considerate way at all times.
“We are pleased that the overwhelming response from parents has been positive.”
