A woman had her handbag stolen in a distraction theft in a Canvey supermarket car park.
The victim was approached by a male after shopping at the store, stating her vehicle had been hit by another driver in the car park at Morrison's, Northwick Road, Canvey yesterday at around 1pm.
Whilst she was distracted, another male took the victims handbag.
Essex Police - Castle Point District said: "We are urging shoppers to be vigilant having received a report of theft from a motor vehicle at Morrison's, Northwick Road, Canvey on 24th January around 1pm.

"Fortunately another member of the public saw this occurring and shouted out, both men ran away dropping the handbag.
"One of the suspects is described as white, 6 foot tall, slim build wearing navy blue clothing and spoke with a foreign accent.
"If you saw anything or can provide further information, please call us on 101, report online or use our 'live chat' service, quoting incident 0583 of the 24th January 2023."
