An off duty south Essex police officer has been convicted of attacking 14 year old boy.
PC Paul Bewsey, 44, from School Avenue, Basildon was found guilty of assault by beating following the incident on April 21 in Hanging Hill Lane, Brentwood.
He appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 24 November where he denied the offence.
He then appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Monday, where he was found guilty of assault by beating.

He was ordered to complete 80 hours' unpaid work, pay £625 in prosecution costs, £100 in compensation and a £95 surcharge.
A spokesman said: "The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards are aware.
"Now that criminal proceedings have concluded the misconduct process will begin in due course."
