A THUG beat his mother and stepfather in a “prolonged and persistent” attack, punching them repeatedly in the street after discovering the man was not his biological dad.
Ben Allen, 36, attacked the couple outside their home in Westcliff last February, swearing violently at the pair as he launched a brutal attack.
He repeatedly punched the man and stood on him, as well as throwing his mother across an alleyway and punching her.
Basildon Crown Court heard Allen, of Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, told police “he would do it again” and that his stepfather “had it coming to him”.
During the hearing, it was claimed that Allen was "psychologically abused" as a child and his stepfather would "push him into the sofa and make him take freezing showers".
It was also claimed that his stepfather would "hit him to punish him and make him stand in a corner as punishment".
Prosecuting, Carolyne Gardiner, said: “On February 2, 2022, the victims saw a man in an alleyway, he punched the man in the face and he fell to the ground.
“He stamped and stood on his ankle and threw his mother across the alleyway and punched her. He swore at the pair and punched his mother too.

“He told police he was abused by his stepfather and agreed he should have acted differently. This was a prolonged and persistent assault.”
The court heard how the male victim looked after Allen until he was in his 20s when Allen was told the man was his stepfather and not his biological father.
Mitigating, David Parvin, told the court sending Allen to jail would mean his young family would suffer.
He said: “He’s taken positive steps to address the issues, such as therapy, and its to his credit that he’s done this on his own accord and it’s benefitting him.
“I do think there is a risk to the public and the risk is specific. He believed he was barged by his stepfather and it was a chance meeting in the street.
“He doesn’t accept he had planned the whole thing. If he keeps on the path he is taking with the help, there is a realistic prospect of rehabilitation in the community.”
Allen admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault. He was sentenced to 12 months, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to complete 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days and handed an exclusion zone order not to attend the victim’s home.
