A victim has left hospital after suffering "serious" head injuries in an attack in Westcliff.
Officers were called to London Road shortly before 4:20am on Friday morning after the man was seriously assaulted.
A police cordon was put in place across two nearby roads, Brightwell Avenue and West Road, following the assault.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "The victim sustained multiple injuries including serious injuries to his head.
"The victim has seen been discharged from hospital. No arrests have been made at this stage but enquiries remain ongoing."
Police are urging anyone with any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, to get in contact with the force.
