An 11 year old child was left injured after being hit by a car near a parade of shops in Rochford.
The child and car were involved in the crash in Ashingdon Road yesterday evening. Witnesses say the child was knocked off his scooter on a zebra crossing during the incident.
A number of worried residents took to social media posting about concern for the boy.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called to Ashingdon Road in Rochford shortly before 5:30pm yesterday following a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian, an 11-year-old child sustained minor injuries. The driver has been reported for driving without due care and attention."
