MACHETE-WIELDING thugs stole a £3,900 electric bike during an armed robbery which left the victim “feeling like he was going to be stabbed or killed”.
The victim had agreed to meet the men to sell the bike to them in Basildon in August, but one of the attackers pulled out a 22-inch machete while the other grabbed the bike before they fled.
Yesterday, Ibrahim Jagaraga, 20 and Jhonalvi Noboa, 21, were both sent to young offenders institutes after the incident left the victim “feeling anxious and fearing backlash”.

When he was arrested, Jagaraga was also found with £380-worth of fake £20 notes.
Prosecuting, Sean Summerfield said: “Both men went to the victim’s place of work. Jagaraga grabbed the bike and Noboa took out the machete and both made off the bike.
“They were spotted in Wickford and there was a police chase. They managed to evade police and the bike was recovered before they were arrested.
“Jagaraga was found with 19 fake £20 notes.”
During the hearing at Basildon Crown Court, Matthew Ness, mitigating for Jagaraga, told the court his client is “very sorry” and had time in custody to reflect on his actions.
Mitigating for Noboa, Peter Clark said: “He was bullied through school which made it difficult for him to engage with the education system.
“He’s made progress in custody and shows remorse.”
