Swimming lesson have been cancelled for a month at a popular Basildon fitness centre's pool.

The learner pool at Basildon Sporting Village is set to shut from Saturday February 25 until Saturday March 25.

This is for essential improvement works to take place including retiling and the installation of new lighting to improve the facilities on offer.

Swimming lessons in the learner pool will be cancelled during this period.

Customers who have lessons will have their regular direct debit frozen on March 1 and restarted again on April 1 once the works have been completed.

A spokesman for Basildon Sporting Village said: "If you have other children on the swim scheme the sessions held in the main pool will take place as usual.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding."
