A Westcliff road is seeing six weeks of works from today for CityFibre internet installations.
The roadworks will be progressing along London Road with various road closures from for around 6 weeks between the following roads:

Hamlet Court Road to West Road (for a period of 2 weeks - westbound closure)
Hamlet Court Road to North Road (for a period of 2 weeks – eastbound closure)
Milton Road to Hamlet Court Road (for a period of 2 weeks – westbound closure)
Southend Council is warning residents and drivers of likely delays.

Signs are being put up for the works, with variable message signs updating motorists as they enter the city.
This is to reduce additional temporary traffic lights being used on London Road.
Steven Wakefield, councillor responsible for transport, highways and parking, said: "London Road is a very busy route, which is why I would urge all motorists, residents and visitors to keep an eye on the council’s social media pages for regular updates and to plan their journeys accordingly."
