A man has been arrested on suspicion of immigration offenes in Southend after a van was stopped.
The van was stopped in the city today by Essex Police's road crime team as police said the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver has been reported as police say checks showed that the vehicle had no insurance, and the vehicle has been seized.
The passenger, a 22-year-old man from London, has also been arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.
A roads policing unit spokesman tweeted: "Checks show no insurance and the passenger is suspected to have entered the UK illegally.
"Passenger arrested, vehicle seized and driver reported. Thanks to Essex OSG for their help."
