A teenager has been charged with the murder of Terry Leeks in Basildon.

Terry, 46, was fatally assaulted in Northlands Park at around 1.30am on 11 July 2021.

Eighteen year-old Callum Taylor, of Craylands, Basildon was arrested on Monday night (February 20).

He appeared at Basildon Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday, February 22) where he was charged with murder and is next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on Friday (February 24).

Two other people – Bailey Taylor, 20, of Craylands, Basildon, and a 16-year-old boy – were charged with manslaughter last week.

They are next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on March 17.
