A 12-year-old boy has been charged with robbery after a police probe into an incident at a market in Pitsea.
Essex Police was called to an incident shortly after 12pm on Saturday 25 February, during which it was alledged stallholder had been threatened with a large knife.
A boy was later arrested and bailed.
A force spokesman said: "Yesterday, Sunday 26 February, we arrested a 12-year-old boy on suspicion of breaching police bail.
"A 12-year-old boy, who cannot be named because of his age, has now been charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article and is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today, Monday February 27."
