Police have issued an update to concerned residents after emergency services were called to a south Essex secondary school.
Police were assisting ambulance service crews at Gateway Academy in Tilbury this morning.
Officers have now confirmed emergency services were called to the Marshfoot Road school after a medical episode.
The individual was taken to hospital and their family are aware.
In a statement before 11am today, an Essex Police spokesman said: "We are supporting our ambulance service colleagues following a medical episode at Gateway Academy in Tilbury this morning.
"Emergency services remain on scene but we can confirm that no crime has taken place and this is a medical matter.
"The family of the individual, who has been taken to hospital are aware."
