A SOUTH Essex supermarket is set to close for around eight months due to a refurbishment.

Aldi also recently revealed it wants to build two new stores in south Essex as it plans to invest more than £400 million in store development over the coming years.
Ideally, each location would be near a main road with good visibility and access, with Rayleigh and Basildon among its priority locations.
In response to the tweet, a spokesman for Aldi confirmed the refurbishment.
They said: "In order to provide an improved shopping experience for Wickford customers, the Aldi store on The Broadway will close at 2pm on 18th March to undergo an exciting refurbishment.
"As a result, we will be opening our brand new and improved, larger Aldi on 30th November, which will also include a refreshed layout and enhanced customer facilities."
