A PEDESTRIAN has died after they were struck by a car in a quiet residential lane in Great Wakering.
Police officers were called to Rebels Lane at about 8.40pm on Friday following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
Essex Police has now stated the pedestrian died at the scene following the tragic collision.
Their family have been informed and are being supported by investigating police officers.
Rebels Lane was temporarily closed throughout the evening while officers carried out inquiries and has since been reopened.
A police spokeswoman said: “We are now in the position to confirm that the pedestrian involved in a collision in Great Wakering on Friday night has sadly died.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or have any further information or dashcam footage to contact us.
“Please quote incident 1226 of March 17 when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.”
