Just Stop Oil members are holding a demonstration outside Basildon Combined Court as two are set to stand trial after disruptiton at the Dartford Crossing last year.
Morgan Trowland, 40, and Marcus Decker, 34, are accused of causing a public nuisance following disruption at the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, which links Kent and Essex, in October 2022.
The crossing was blocked after two demonstrators mounted its cables with climbing equipment in Thurrock.
Decker, of no fixed address, denied the charge at a plea hearing on November 29. Trowland, of Islington, London, was not present but has indicated he would deny the charge.
The men are set to begin their trial today at Basildon Crown Court, which is expected to last at least seven days.
Other members of Just Stop Oil have gathered in support of the duo outside the court this morning.
The members are holding a Just Stop Oil banner alongside another which says "Brave Men v Braverman".
One member is also holding a poster which reads: "And solidarity to all the political prisoners we can't name."
Police are reportedly stationed outside the court, with more officers also seen inside the court building.
