Bosses at a popular country park have warned visitors "change is happening" as they thanked the team of staff at the park's cafe for their service.

Wat Tyler Country Park will not be able to provide refreshment services in the coming days, a post on the park's Facebook has warned.

A spokesman thanked the Wat Tyler Cafe staff for their "excellent" service over the years as they made the announcement yesterday.

The statement on Facebook said: "Change is happening here at the park. Please note we will not be able to provide refreshment services in the coming days.

"We would like to take this time to thank the staff and team of Wat Tyler Cafe LTD who have provided an excellent service over the years and supplied refreshments to our many customers."

The news comes after the park was advertising an opportunity for businesses to apply for operation of the internal cafe and kiosk in January.

The park's play area re-opened last summer after a major four months-long refurbishment, offering inclusive features suitable for wheelchair users and children of all ages and abilities.

Inclusive changing facility soon opened in the park after the new play area was unveiled.
