The south Essex magistrates have been busy again with a range of cases.
Here's our latest round up of cases in front of the magistrates.
Michael Benge, 54, of Wells Gardens, Basildon was in court in connection with allegations of stalking.
A complaint was made for a stalking Protection Order on the basis that he has allegedly carried out acts associated with stalking namely see summons, that you pose a risk associated with stalking to another person and there is reasonable cause to believe the proposed order is necessary to protect another from such a risk.
The case was adjourned to April 28 at Basildon Magistrates Court for an application. An interim Stalking Protection Order made for 29 days or until the final determination of the application if earlier.
He was ordered not to contact or interfere with, either directly or indirectly a number of people, not to enter or go within Peterborough Way, Basildon, not to enter or go within Craylands, Basildon, Essex between the junctions of Canterbury Close and Fowey Way.
The defendant must notify the police the details specified in section 9 of the Stalking Protection Act 2019 within 3 days and failure to comply with any term of this order is a criminal offence, for which you could be sentenced to prison or detention.
Chanel Knight-Davey, 26, of Southchurch Avenue, Southend was sentenced for having a cat while banned from doing so.
Between September 1 2021 and February 7 having been disqualified under section 34 of the Animal
Welfare Act 2006 after conviction, and sentence on September 12 2018 by Southend Magistrates' Court of an offence under section 34(9), of that Act, she breached that disqualification in that, she was keeping a certain animal namely a tortoiseshell and white cat.
She was fined £80, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and pay costs of £200.
Connie Munro, 44, of Crown Hill, Rayleigh was in court for failing to follow a court order.
She failed without reasonable excuse to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following release from a period of imprisonment in that Ms Munro failed to report for an office appointment as instructed without reasonable excuse on May 31 2022.

absences within the specified time limit.
She was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £150.
Daniel Hicks, 49, of St. James Gardens, Westcliff was in court for a driving offence.
On March 8 2022 in Southend he drove a motor vehicle, and failed to comply with the indication given by a traffic signal.
He was fined £198, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and pay costs of £200 to the Crown Prosecution Service. His driving record endorsed with 3 points.
Keely Nial, 48, of Redgrave Road, Basildon was in court in connection with assault by beating.
It's alleged that on June 2 2022 in Essex she assaulted a woman by beating her.
She was remanded on unconditional bail until September 12 2023 for the trial.
Paul Gardner, 57, of Station Road, Southend was in court for harassment, alarm or distress.
On January 28 in Hartlepool, with intent to cause a man harassment, alarm or distress, he used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour, thereby causing that person or another harassment, alarm or distress.
A community order made and he was ordered to complete 40 days of Programme Requirement and 40 days of Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
He was also fined £80, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £114, and costs of £105 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Samson Rosemond, 24, Rectory Road, Pitsea, was in court for a driving offence.
On September 16 2021 in Epping Forest, he used a motor vehicle, when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance or such a security in respect of third party risks.
He was fined £660, o pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £66, costs of £620 to the Crown Prosecution Service and he was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 6 months.
