Here are some of the best pubs with beer gardens, listed in no particular order.

1. The Fox and Hounds, in Billericay:

This pub is rated five out of five on TripAdvisor and is part of the Travellers’ Choice 2022.

It is a site that has served the villages in the area for more than 200 years.

In 2017, the pub underwent a huge refurbishment updating the bar, kitchen, and garden.

TripAdvisor reviews say the garden is large and welcoming.

One states: “A very nice welcoming pub with a good-sized garden”.

Another added: “Always a good day or night in the beer garden.”

2. The Royal Oak, in Rochford:

This pub is rated 4.5 out of five on TripAdvisor and is also part of the Travellers’ Choice 2022.

It is set in the countryside and has the “charm and character of a classic British pub”.

Not only does it have delicious food but there is a wide-ranging drinks menu.

TripAdvisor reviews say: “Fantastic pub with a great beer garden. Food was superb and staff were very welcoming and helpful.  

Another adds: “There is a lovely pub garden with a play area for the children. A great space for all the family.”

3. The Waeccer, in Great Wakering:

This pub is rated 4.5 out of five on TripAdvisor and is part of the Travellers’ Choice 2022.

They say, “everything is made from fresh ingredient” and they have “top quality drinks”.

There is also a “huge” beer garden with a play area, and a decking area.

A TripAdvisor reviews says: “There are options to sit in the bar, restaurant or outside in the beer garden”.

Another adds: “This pub benefits from a large garden so the fun doesn’t have to stop when the eating stops!”.

4. Travellers Joy, in Rayleigh:

This pub is rated 4.5 out of five on TripAdvisor and is also part of the Travellers’ Choice 2022.

It is at the heart of the community in Rayleigh and there is a place “for everyone to get together and relax”.

It has a good-sized outside area too.

A TripAdvisor reviews says: “We come here regularly being our local, and we always feel comfortable.”

Another added: “Great all-round pub and dining. Something for everyone whether it be a family meal or a friends get together”.
