Wickford High Street new Mist Café Bistro set to open

The Mist Cafe Bistro will be opening in Wickford High Street next month, creating ten jobs for residents in the area.

The owners said they have spent up to £100,000 on the new site so far. Bistro owner Emrullah Top, 42, has worked in Wickford for eight years.

He is opening the new bistro alongside his business partner Murat Surucu, 35, at the former Lloyds Bank site at 40 High Street in Wickford.

Mr Top will be based in the kitchen and Mr Surucu will be working at the front of the restaurant. The bistro will be serving traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner items with the aim of providing top quality food and service.

Mr Top has been successfully running a cafe businesses since 1998. He also has a cafe in Hornchurch High Street, which he plans to keep alongside his new Wickford bistro.

Mr Top said: “This one is a lot different to my other businesses, we’re having cocktails and drinks and it will be modern, posh and serve good quality breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

“I am happy to be working in Wickford, I like the people here and the customers are always very friendly.”

He added: “All food will be made from fresh, not frozen.

“On the menu there will be freshly-made burgers, steaks, lasagne, peri chicken and there will be fresh sauces made daily.

“We will be using a charcoal grill in the kitchen too.

“The restaurant has an alcohol licence so customers can enjoy cocktails, wine, vodka, whiskey and more.

“The restaurant has an artistic design and when the decorations are fully finished it will look amazing.

“There is space for 60 people to sit inside and 20 people can sit outside.”

The new cafe bistro is set to open in mid-May.
