A PUB is bringing an “Ibiza pool party” atmosphere to Rayleigh high street after splashing out £30,000 on a garden revamp.
With plush and colourful seating, tropical palm trees and ambient lighting, the Spread Eagle is seeing customers rushing to book tables at the new beer garden.
Bosses say it’s already boosting trade at the venue after opening earlier this month.
The pub started to create the outdoor room in the Covid pandemic to keep the business alive, but now it’s created a whole new lease of life for the business.
Landlord Russell Best, 54, said: “I am very pleased with it and how it now looks. We keep adding new accessories and furniture to it all the time.
“We are still finding time and ways to improve it and the customers are loving it. It’s getting booked up regularly for private events.

“It is also open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays and our customers are all really enjoying it too.
We’ve been able to remove our marquee to get more sunshine in the garden too.
“We’ve spent between £25,000 and £30,000 on the new garden roof so far.
It’s just developed by itself really and we’ve not had any theme or plan in mind.
“It’s got a real Ibiza chilled out vibe about it and we want to make our customers feel as if they are on holiday.”
He said the whole idea in the pandemic was to create a space to help get “bums on seats.”
The business is holding Ibiza soul events, with chilled out atmosphere.
The garden room has TVs and DJ deck areas as well as living walls with plants.
Stylish blue and purple sofas surround the decking and lighting all add to the pool partyfeel of the garden room.
DJ Darren Bull added: “There’s nothing else like it in the area and certainly Rayleigh. We’re bringing Ibiza summer vibes with the garden room.
“We will be having events on Saturdays to give shoppers and customers chance to chill out with soulful, house and easy music which compliments the whole feel.
“People tell us it’s a great place to relax and it is giving Rayleigh High Street something different.”
