A LEADING coffee chain is refurbishing its site in Basildon to provide customers with a new “refreshed look” store.

Costa Coffee is currently refurbishing its store in Town Square, Basildon to create a more “welcoming and relaxing environment”.

This site has been in Basildon for more than five years now, but according to residents on social media it has been in need of a refurbishment.

Bosses at Costa have since closed the store for the past week to give it a refreshed look.

Part of the works includes new decors as well as seating at the site.

A spokesman for Costa Coffee said: “The Costa Coffee store in Unit 2, Town Square, Basildon is closed between Friday, April 21, to Friday, April 28 for a refurbishment.

“It is being refurbished to offer a refreshed look and feel, including new décor and seating.

“We are excited to provide customers with a welcoming, relaxing environment to enjoy their favourite coffee and meet with friends and family.”

“We apologise for any inconvenience the temporary store closure will cause and would advise customers to visit our Costa Coffee store in Pipps Hill Retail Park, Basildon, while the store is closed.

“We look forward to welcoming both existing and new customers through the doors once the store reopens to pick-up their favourite crafted Costa coffee and enjoy the new look and feel of the store.”

Recently Costa also opened a new store in Basildon Hospital as part of the £7.6 million new entrance.

Craig Rimmer, Conservative councillor responsible for regeneration, said welcomed the refurbishment news.

He said: “It is very good news to hear this.

“Costa already has a great partnership with Basildon and the area as well, so it is great for them to invest further.

“It is always good for a business to have a refreshen up. Change is as good as the rest, and people like to see businesses keep up to date.

“So, it is fantastic and is welcomed news for all.”
