Detectives investigating an incident where a girl reported a man had tried to get her into his van have issued an update.
A girl reported being approached by a man in a black van who then tried to bring her into his vehicle in Long Lane, Grays, at 7.15am yesterday (April 26).
Police say the girl was not harmed and was able to leave the area. Officers have spoken to the girl and carried out a number of enquiries.
They have also increased the policing presence in the area during school drop off and pick up times.
An Essex Police spokesman has now issued an update today.
They said: "We have eliminated any involvement of a black van as part of our investigation.
"We will continue to investigate the circumstances around the incident.
"We need anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or doorbell footage of it to get in touch.
