A MAN has been arrested following a collision in Southend city centre which has left a pedestrian seriously injured.
It was reported a car and a pedestrian were in collision in Chichester Road shortly after 1am today, April 29.
The pedestrian, a woman, has sustained a potentially serious head injury.
A 43 year-old man from Southend has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving.
He is currently in custody.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
“Please quote incident 65 of 29 April.
“Alternatively you can call us on 101 but always call 999 in an emergency or contact Crimestoppers anonymously by visiting their website or calling 0800 555 111.”
