Sergeant Bramhill of the Chigwell roads policing team said: "Working with our partners, Vision Zero is our ambition to eliminate deaths and serious injuries on Essex roads by 2040.
"Sadly we continue to see offences being committed that are a contributing factor, one of the vehicles we stopped had the worst tyre wear I have seen in 27 years of service.
"The vehicle was prohibited from being used, the driver had to wait for a tyre replacement and he was reported for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition.
"Every driver has a duty to check their vehicle for road worthiness every time they use it."
