A PERSON has been pronounced dead after emergency services were called to the c2c line in south Essex.

Emergency services rushed to Pitsea this morning after reports of an incident.

The British Transport Police has since confirmed a person has died at the scene.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Pitsea railway station at 9.05am on May, 12, to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
