MULTIPLE roads across Rochford, Basildon and their surrounding areas are set to close so works can be undertaken.

Here's which roads will be shutting and why:

Daws Heath Road in Rayleigh will close from near its junction with Wyburn Avenue for a distance of about 40m in a south easterly direction on June 15 for 2 days.

The closure is required while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach. An alternative route is available via Arterial Road, Progress Road, Rayleigh Road, Eastwood Road and vice versa (with access only into Daws Heath Road).

 A number of Billericay roads will be closed after May 25 as ducting and chamber installation works are undertaken by Virgin Media.

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public.

  • Central Avenue will shut from its junction with Norsey View Drive
  • The Priory will close from its junction with Perry Street
  • Lisa Close is closing from its junction with Norsey View Drive
  • Tylers Avenue is set to shut from its junction with Perry Street. Tylers Avenue will also close from its junction with Central Avenue and from its junction with Norsey View Drive to its junction with Central Avenue
  • Norsey View Drive will be closed from its junction with Perry Street. Norsey View Drive is also closing from its junction with Tylers Avenue

 A number of Rochford roads will be closed after May 25 as fibre optic installation works are undertaken by City Fibre. 

The scheduled dates may vary and the roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public.

A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will also be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of road for the duration of the closures in order to facilitate the works.

  • Heritage Way from its junction with Dalys Road
  • Sovereign Close from its junction with Heritage Road  
  • Regency Close from its junction with Heritage Road to its end
  • Mansted Gardens from its junction with Craven Close to its junction with Doric Avenue
  • Boswell Avenue from its junction with Ashingdon Road to its junction with Spencer Gardens

Victoria Road in Laindon will be closed from its junction with Devonshire Road to its junction with Tattenham Road on June 12 for 82 days while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Devonshire Road, Buller Road, Tattenham Road and vice versa.

Dry Street in Langdon Hills is closing from its junction with Southway on May 31 for one day while overhead cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Dry Street, Nether Mayne, Fobbing Farm Roundabout, Nether Mayne, Roundacre New Roundabout, Laindon Link, Laindon Link Roundabout, Staneway, High Road and vice versa.

Thundersley Grove will be closed from its junction with Bread and Cheese Hill for a distance of about 15m in a north easterly direction on May 22 for 19 days while gas connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Coombewood Drive, Kenneth Road, Bread And Cheese Hill and vice versa.
