FAMILIES have been urged to keep windows shut as eight fire crews battle a fire near Hamlet Court Road in Westcliff.
Essex Fire and Rescue Service says it was called to reports of a fire in a three-storey building, between London Road and Anerley Road, at 8.20pm.
Eight crews, two Aerial Ladder Platforms (Chelmsford and Grays) and an Incident Command Unit (Hawkwell) are in attendance.
Road closures are in place and residents are advised to avoid the area.
