RESIDENTS have been left without power in their homes overnight and emergency repairs are set to be carried out.
A fault has been reported in Southend, affecting the postcode area of SS1 1, surrounding Southend Central train station.
The UK Power Network became aware of the fault at 12.35am and said they will do “everything they can” to restore the power.
It is yet to be confirmed when the power will be back on for customers.
The power has been turned off in the area to allow engineers to safely carry out emergency repairs.
The most recent update from the UK Power Network confirmed engineers are on-site to investigate the fault.
A spokesman for the network said: “We became aware of a power cut at 00:35. We’re sorry for any disruption this may have caused you.
“We didn’t know in advance there would be a power cut but now that we know, our teams will do everything they can to get your power back quickly.
“Engineers are now on site, carrying out investigations into the fault. Once they have completed their assessment, they will carry out repairs.
