Southend Council is hiring a dozen new resort assistants to work on the city's pier and beaches this summer.
The landmark attracts thousands of visitors and residents alike looking to enjoy all that Southend seafront can offer over the summer season.
As a result, bosses are hiring 12 new seasonal resort assistants to manage the volume of visitors until September 30.
Workers will be assisting with the general operation of the pier, beaches or the visitor information centre.
A description of the role on Southend Council's website explains: "You will provide high levels of customer service to the visitors at the pier, as well as areas of the beaches, promote and assist with activities, including awareness of water safety and provide information and advice.
"This role is a varied role and no two days are the same. One day you will be involved with the collection of train tickets and seeing trains in and out of the station as well as being on hand to assist visitor with any queries, while on other days, you will be carrying out patrols on the pier and 7 miles of foreshore (beaches), reporting hazards, checking lifesaving equipment, manning slipways, and recording maintenance checks."
Reliability and flexibility are a must for the role as it is physically demanding, and typical shifts are alternate weeks of either 10am to 6pm or 12pm to 8pm on a four days on and two days off basis.
Successful applicants will also be available to work evenings, weekends - as well as weekdays - and bank holidays.
Anyone interested in the role should apply on the Southend Council website by clicking here.
The closing date for applications is June 26, but this may close earlier so anyone interested is advised to apply as soon as they are able to.
