A driver has been arrested and police are searching for a pedestrian after a violent incident in Eastwood this afternoon.
Police officers were called to Rayleigh Road, shortly after 3.20pm today (June 19) after it was reported a person in a car had been involved in an argument with a pedestrian.
As that argument escalated, the occupant of the car sustained a stab wound to his torso. He has been taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which police say are not life-threatening.
The car in which the person was travelling then struck the pedestrian, who left the area. The driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of GBH.
One man, the pedestrian, remains outstanding and extensive police enquiries are ongoing to identify him.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "This incident took place in public, and we have already spoken to a number of people to gain their accounts of what happened.
"We are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage of it to come forward."
Submit a report on the force's website essex.police.uk or by using the online Live Chat service. Alternatively, call police on 101.
Anyone reporting any information is asked to reference incident 921 of 19 June.
