AN American-style restaurant on Canvey is set to open a second branch just months after launching its first.

The Hutch, in High Street, Canvey, is a takeaway and small eat-in restaurant which opened back in February.

Despite only being open around four months, business has gone so well owner Adam Gill, 37, is now set to open another site by Benfleet train station.

Adam set up the business after spending more than 10 years running kitchens, where he served similar sorts of foods.

He said: “We are a small family-run business that believe in offering fresh cooked food, using produce from local businesses.

“We could have never imagined how well it has gone since we have opened, and we are so grateful to all our customers regular and new.

“We are very excited to be opening a second site in Benfleet. We cannot wait to get in and get ready.

“We get a lot of requests to deliver to Benfleet, but it is not always possible from the Canvey site due to distance and traffic – the last thing we would want is a customer to receive food cold or not as it is meant to be.”

Adam hopes they will be able to open the new site by mid to late July, a date which will be confirmed soon via The Hutch’s social media.

Some of the food on the menu includes smashed patty burgers, mac and cheese, boneless chicken bites, among many other tasty treats.

The Benfleet site will be offering the same sorts of food as the Canvey location but will also be serving breakfast to cater to hungry commuters.

It will have a small dine-in area, but is mainly focused on takeaways, again like the Canvey branch.

Adam added: “We always had ambitions to open a second site if the Canvey branch was to do well.

“We never anticipated it would happen so fast but as I said before we get a lot of requests to deliver to Benfleet and the opportunity for the second site became available and we decided we couldn’t not take the chance.

“I would like to thank all our customers, staff, family and friends that have made this possible and we look forward to meeting some new customers very soon.”
